"Baby, you're a firework ...." Spreading some MAGIC

My Nephelum Boris... Here to illustrate the Emotion of the Moment.
Three weeks ago I got sucked into watching a television reality competition. I guess that's what they're called. I was waiting for the Significant Other to get back so we could watch our movie, and what I saw in five minutes made me cry. I was so intrigued by what I was watching that we postponed our movie-viewing and I have made us watch "The Sing-Off" these last three weeks whenever it has been on television.

I needed this. I needed an infusion of holiday *touchy-feeliness*.  Since we started watching I've sent out Christmas cards for the first time in 16 years, mellowed considerably, and in general felt a pretty huge chunk of concrete? ice? fall off of my chest which has allowed me to feel more than human, it's allowed me to feel as though I can be available if people need me.  I feel as though I have a repository of Love and Good Will to spread about at will, or at least whenever I feel it necessary.  It has made me feel CHRISTMAS-Y in what I assure you has seemed a less than "Good Will Toward All" kind of season.

Each week in watching the performances from The Sing-Off contestants (were they really contestants? By the end, even they were calling one another "family") I was consistently awed and repeatedly fell in love.  Why?  Because everyone that I saw hit the stage was giving it their all.  Their "ALL" as in, "All of their hearts."  "All of their might."  "All of their power."  "All their soul." ALL of their spirit, voice, talent, love, gifts, joy, enthusiasm, skill.  Folks, they brought their "A-Game" and "left it all out on the stage."  The feeling that all of the performers (ENTERTAINERS!) brought to their music and into our homes, thousands of miles away was one of brotherhood, love, and pure *magic.*

Magic is exactly what all of their hard work, amazing spirits, love of their art form and of one another created right there in my little T.V. set and spilled out and over into my heart and eventually into the world.  Did I mention they were also fun to watch?  I should have!

So, here's my little infusion... infiltration... SUBTERFUGE of the SCROOGE!  I found two of my favorites from last night's finale, but I would highly encourage anyone to find the rest of the music and just feel.  It's a good feeling.

Merry Merry, where ever you may be. I hope through watching these videos that you too are duly infected, with Love, Joy, Peace, Hope... and maybe a little booty-shakin.

Street Corner Symphony performing "Fix You"

Backbeats performing "Firework" (I have to say I hadn't even heard of this song until a couple of weeks ago when friend posted it on my Facebook Page.  I'm not a Katie Perry fan, but the lyrics to this are great, and it's even a bouncy tune... but I like the way these guys do it best ;-)

This post is wonderful testament to the power of art to make the world into a place I want to live in... and what is more important than that? Nothing that I can think of. Thank you for sharing this! Merry merry. :-)
